Kagami Smile
Kagami Smile is the recording alias of Ryan Hill, a prolific ambient musician whose work drifts between dream logic and decay. Over the past decade, he has quietly assembled a vast catalog of blurred drones, dissolving rhythms, and meditative noise across labels like Dream Catalogue, SØVN, Pure Life, and Opal Tapes. Often recorded in single-night sessions, Hill’s music functions less as composition and more as ritual — a nightly gesture toward dissociation, memory, and collapse.
Influenced by shoegaze, tape hiss, vaporwave, and the weather outside his apartment, Kagami Smile creates soundtracks for falling out of time. His work has been described as “music that remembers you,” and it often arrives on limited cassette, accompanied by minimal art and a sense of disappearance.
